The space which is now our home environments have increased the use of so-called shared environments. This means that sometimes the boundaries of the spaces are not very clear: the best style of a loft, the division (for example) between the kitchen and the dining is not a rigidly fixed by a boundary wall or formal.
However, to avoid breaking the harmony of the household and for each site to respond to your function, should, through some decorative artifacts, some separations. They should be very mild, almost incorporated, but at the same time as the separation of operational functions from one area to another.

One way is to differentiate the range of colors in both sectors, perhaps incorporating a small variation between the dining table, for example, and a sofa in the living room. In one of the areas we tend to place a more avant-garde furniture or functionality, giving greater impression of movement and present, and the other corner, we can dress it with a more classic style.
Furniture, light fixtures, carpets or wallpaper on the walls are some decorative elements that can be used to put these changes in strategies. You can also apply different shades of paint on the walls, although this possibility is a little more extreme and takes a greater risk is vital to maintain the harmony of the other elements. Our creativity should be tested, then, to achieve shared environments with healthy dose of independence and harmony.
