There are different ways to reduce the impact of our home on the environment . We propose some actions you might take into account when planning your new house to be cleaner as possible:

.- Using solar energy: The design must take into account the orientation of the house to take advantage of passive solar energy, which increases the inside temperature in winter and prevents overheating in summer. If you want to use active solar energy to preheat the water, lighting, cooking, or provide power to air conditioning systems need to install solar panels.

.- To improve the thermal insulation: Something that can mean higher cost in the construction phase, is an expense that pays for itself quickly. Remember that insulation can be made from recycled particleboard with borax.

.- Using local materials: Materials that are manufactured in the same area requiring less transportation and usually cause minor impacts on the environment.

.- Do not buy products produced with non-renewable resources: Remember that the minerals with which it produces cement and aluminum are not renewable. Neither the raw materials for bricks, especially when done using the first layer of soil. The best alternative is wood, because it is derived from plantations and sustainably managed forests.

.- Do not use toxic or polluting materials: Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) destroy the ozone layer, increase the effects of rain to and promote climate change. Are also harmful heavy metals, paints, solvents and materials that release formaldehyde or other volatile organic compounds.
