American Mailbox

Magenta I share the passion for the typical American mailboxes, I find very curious, with its peculiar shape and its practicality: the postman raised the red flag to deliver the letters and so just by looking out the window when correspondence is known.

At Flickr I found this scale developments, a lovely wooden box that mimics a house. His stay in the open, away from ruin, adds more attractive, providing a nice aged look. Surely the fans hands to crafts wood would not have a lot of complication to build something similar.

But do not believe that to see things like that have to cross the pond. Without going any further, in some northern rural areas, mail is divided into community mailboxes shaped building situated at the foot of the roads. In this way the postmen do not have to venture beyond to deliver mail. I've seen me with these eyes ...
