Tower demolished Nagakin of Kisho Kurokawa
The conservation of architectural heritage, especially the modern (see DoCoMoMo) is an issue everywhere in the world. In Japan wants to demolish the Tower Nagakin, emblematic work of the beginning of the seventies, in place to build a tower of 14 floors.
The building, also known as the Capsule Tower, was built in 1971 by the Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa in the Ginza district of Tokyo and is one of the few works to realize the concepts of Japanese metabolisms (fairly close to work of Archigram).
The reason for the demolition, proposed by the residents of the building would be built with asbestos.

For his part, Kurokawa, supported by the Japan Institute of Architects, pose change with asbestos parts with new ones, keeping the concept of the 140 prefabricated units attached to a central core. Each unit (or capsule) is 2.5 x 4 mts. and come with bathrooms, TV, alarm clock and cassettera Luxury!
Apparently, the real interest of the neighbors is a new tower to increase the floor area by 60%.
