Ms. Seifert, curator of a gallery of 63 years, commissioned this house after his former home, a building of approximately 150 years, was burned. For their new home called something in particular, their new home (as opposed to above) should merge with nature, to appreciate the changing seasons throughout the year.

Consequently, Mies was a landmark in the concept of the house, especially with the Farnsworth House and the spaces as they should be, opened to the outside while offering privacy. In addition, he became a research on how much free space effectively determines the way of life, in contrast to a few determinations space afforded this freedom. While the former refers to attempts to create freedom of Rietveld (by sliding doors, etc.), the latter refers to the open plan structured Mies.
The house was built as a passive house (no need for cooling or heating) with a rather low budget (1400 € / m2), with a construction period of 7 months. Since early 2006, Ms. Seifert lives in your home - without regret.
