Milano Santa Monica: A New Master for 2013

Masterplan for a 2 million square meters has been announced for the city of Milan in order to densify the area Segrate located some 7 kilometers from the city. This megaproject called Milano Santa Monica is home to 2,000 parking spaces equipped with a full program of services including schools, sports centers, trade and play areas, among others.

One of the strengths of this proposal is a comprehensive efficiency plan that aims to put emphasis on the energy generated inside the buildings, occupying also the beginning of bio-architecture. Although it does not specify much about the buildings themselves can be recognized at a glance the intentions densify vegetated terraces of the departments, in addition to the use of solar panels which are used for heating systems deliver water and electricity. The project is conducted by Polis Engineering of Milan, the Rome Studio Nicoletti and studying architecture Mazorati awaiting construction by 2013.
