This is a rest house in the middle of a small village in the Lower Engadine valley in eastern Switzerland. The main challenge in this house was the design of mixing traditional architecture with contemporary design villa requested by the client who owns a major art gallery. The aim was to develop a formal language that had some proximity to the traditional architecture of the villa while recognizing Engadine contemporary language away from conservative romanticism.

In urban terms, this home was carefully and dimensions and titrations remained predominant in the environment.

One problem is that the village has been constantly attacked by the fire, so many houses made of wood have disappeared and been replaced by other stone, which now predominate. In concrete housing was used to generate the view somewhat similar to the stone. However, in the interior is wood used as a coating material to give extra warmth.

The appearance of massive walls and heavy delivery very similar to the general aspect of the game and also allows for a traditional look to the windows. Each of the windows respond to a criterion linked to the interior spaces, giving a cluttered appearance to the outside.
