Coop Himmelb (l) au BMW Welt in Munich
The new building, called the "BMW World" or "BMW Welt" is a modern steel and glass building designed by Austrian architects Coop Himmelb (l) au, extending over an area of 25,000 square meters attached to the seat of the company, its main factory and its museum.
In August 2003 the building was constructed, characterized by its irregular shape, its glass facade, a circular area formed by two cones and a floating roof of 16,500 square meters in place by only eleven points of support.

The building has meeting rooms for events, restaurants and shops of brand products, apart from an area where children between 7 and 13 years can learn about the technologies related to the automotive sector through their own experiments.
Facilities will be displayed in new and old vehicles, as well as the work of research, development, design and production of BMW, with multimedia presentations and other exhibits.
The "BMW World" is connected with the headquarters of the company, a building declared a national monument in 1972 which houses the Museum of the company, which will open in early 2008 after a period of renewal.
