Barn House / Buro II
Work: Casa Granero
Architect: Buro II
Location: Flanders, Belgium
Program: Single-Family Housing
The office of Belgian architecture Buro II made a restoration of an old barn in the hills of Flanders, Belgium. The principle on which this house was based was the relationship between spaces and the natural landscape outside.

For its part, the customer had the requirement that tradition, innovation and respect for the environment are combined in the restoration. It was for this reason that the restoration of this barn was considered the landscape as a fundamental element and also kept the original form of the old barn.

These conditions are compounded by the contemporary design, which gives the work the new component that transforms the barn into a modern home. The project preserves the pure geometry inside the barn, with spaces clean and sober colors.
